Adapted DeviceSome adapted devices are costly and therefore people with special needs may not be able to afford them. In this course, each student is required to make a recreational device for an individual with a particular disability. The project will involve several components including a presentation and a paper. The picture to the left shows a device for individuals who need assistance getting in and out of a kayak. The device folds up for easy storage. It also floats in the water. Individuals with certain physical disabilities are now able to get in and out of the kayak therefore allowing for more independence. The price to make -- under $10!!! |
