MHRT/C: Mental Health Rehabilitation Technician - Community (State of Maine)



What is a MHRT/Community

The MHRT/Community certificate (formerly MHRT II/III) applies to MaineCare (Medicaid) “other qualified mental health professionals” providing services to adults excluding residential services. 


This includes:


Providers of community support services
 
Case management services Day treatment/rehabilitation services Assertive community treatment

Day treatment/rehabilitation services as outlined in Chapter II of the MaineCare Benefits
Manual,
Section 17. 
 


Other adult mental health services include emergency services, outpatient services, crisis intervention and crisis support services as outlined in the MaineCare Benefits Manual, Chapter II, Section 65. 

Crisis workers serving adults must meet MHRT/Community certification requirements and have one year of closely related experience.

How do you qualify for an MHRT/Community?


Application for MHRT/C FULL certification at UMF requires:

  • completion of the B.S. Degree in Rehab. Services AND

  • REH 320 Addiction Rehabilitation

  • REH 330 Psychosocial Rehabilitation

  • REH 270 Vocational Counseling and Placement


Application for MHRT/C PROVISIONAL certification at UMF requires

  • completion of all coursework for the B.S. Degree in Rehab. Services
    from, with exception of REH 495 Internship in Rehabilitation and Human Services AND

  • REH 320 Addiction Rehabilitation

  • REH 330 Psychosocial Rehabilitation
     

An application needs to be completed in order to recieve the MHRT/C Credential.
