Alcohol and Drug Counselors (State of Maine)


*Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC)
This license is for individuals who are providing the service of professional alcohol and drug counseling to the public for a fee.

Requirements

  • Verification of 4000 supervised work experience with undergraduate degree

  • 2 peer evaluations

  • 1 evaluation from current clinical supervisor

  • Original transcripts

  • Copy of driving record from Maine Department of Motor Vehicles

  • Supervised practical training summary

  • Written job description signed by supervisor

  • Criminal history check ($15.00)

*Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC)

This license is for individuals who provide alcohol and drug counseling services unaided.  These individuals can not engage in private practice, all work must be performed under the supervision of a board certified clinical supervisor.

*Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS)
This license is for individuals who are certified by the board to provide supervision to individuals who provide alcohol and drug counseling services
Exam Fee Term
$102.50 Annual

Requirements

  • Current LADC or other professional license

  • Verification of 2,000 of clinically supervised work experience with undergraduate degree

  • 30 hours of didactic training in clinical supervision

  • Criminal history check ($15.00)
